On July 18, 2014, the Department of Justice entered into a settlement agreement with Patriot Staffing Services, LLC, which dissociated allegations that the New Jersey-based company violated the anti-discrimination provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) by rejecting the loading portion`s employment authorization document because it had an imminent but future expiration date. As part of the agreement, Patriot Staffing Services, LLC will pay the loading portion $2500.00 in reimbursement to reimburse economic damages incurred, $500 in civil penalties for the United States, and to ensure that all personnel officers participating in the ability to hire and aptitude-to-work examinations participate in CSO training. On December 19, 2012, the Department of Justice issued a press release. in which he announced that he had entered into a settlement agreement with Holliswood Hospital (Holliswood), a hospital in Queens, NY, in which he asserted that the hospital was violating the anti-discrimination provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) by requiring newly hired legitimate permanent residents to submit more or more documents during Form I-9 for verification. The investigation was conducted following a charge by a person after Holliswood fired her after discovering that her right to employment needed to be verified in the future. The ensuing investigation showed that Holliswood imposed stricter requirements to verify access to employment of legitimate permanent residents compared to U.S. citizens. The investigation also revealed that the loading party had been denied employment because of discriminatory documentary practices. As part of the transaction agreement, Holliswood will pay US$1,182 to the loading portion and US$5,000 to civil penalties to the United States. Holliswood will also train its employees on the responsibility of employers for discrimination in the access to employment verification process and will be subject for 18 months to the ministry`s reporting and compliance monitoring. On March 16, 2012, the Department of Justice issued a press release announcing a settlement agreement with Indrescom Security Technology Inc., stating that the company discriminated against a person with the right to work during the I-9 Employment Authorization Verification Process.

The panel of the accused stated that Indrescom would only allow him to work after presenting a legal permanent residence permit, when the worker had already submitted documents proving his identity and work power in the United States.
